The teaching profession has been an essential part of human life since the beginning of civilization, ranging from philosophical lectures given to large audiences, to private education in the eighteenth century, to the institutionalised educational system that has developed in most countries. The main aim of the study is to discuss teacher education systems in both countries and depict the differences in the educational paths of teachers in Turkey and Poland with specific focus on English language teacher education programs. The study seeks to answer the following research questions: (1) How does the educational path to teaching differ in Turkey and Poland? ; (2) How do the educational curricula preparing for English language teachers differ in Turkey and Poland?
