English Language Teachers need to be knowledgeable not only in their subject matter; English, but also in methodology. Besides, successful English teachers are generally the ones who have good relationships with their students. Prospective English teachers dream of having all of these qualities. However, whether it is really the case with most of them is questionable. This study aims to investigate the professional efficacy of senior prospective English teachers from the perspective of their practice teachers who have supervised them in the spring term of 2017 academic year and themselves. For the scope of this study, similar structured- interview questions have been prepared for practice teachers and prospective English teachers. 16 prospective teachers and seven practice teachers have answered these questions in the interview conducted by the researcher. Their answers will be analyzed through one of the qualitative research techniques; coding. Since data analysis continues detailed results will be dealt with in the full paper. It is hoped to have a deeper understanding about the strengths and weaknesses of Prospective English teachers and to shed a light to the effectiveness of education presented in English Language Teaching Departments.
